THE SERVICES
Offering approaches that fit your needs.
It helps to start by envisioning what you want your counseling process to look like. Everyone begins therapy with different backgrounds, goals, and expectations. Olivia L Baylor, LCPC is trained to help you meet your goals and expectations!
I am an Out-of-Network provider (OON).
What does this mean?
At Life Revisions Counseling, LLC, I have chosen not to accept insurance in order to provide ethical, personalized, and client-centered care without the restrictions and complications imposed by insurance companies. Here are the key reasons for this decision:
Protecting Your Privacy: Insurance companies often require access to therapy notes and sensitive personal information to approve or continue coverage. This compromises the confidentiality of your sessions, as your private information can be subject to review by third parties. By not involving insurance, I ensure that your therapy remains completely private and protected.
Avoiding Discriminatory Practices: Unfortunately, insurance companies sometimes engage in discriminatory practices, especially toward individuals from marginalized communities or those with specific diagnoses. By opting out of the insurance system, I eliminate their influence and ensure that everyone receives care in an equitable and inclusive environment.
Freedom from Limitations: Insurance companies often limit the number of sessions, dictate the type of therapy you can receive, and require treatment to fit within their predefined guidelines. This creates unnecessary barriers, especially for those seeking short-term, solution-focused therapy. By working outside of insurance, I can provide you with a customized approach tailored specifically to your goals and needs—on your timeline, not theirs.
No Mandatory Diagnoses: Insurance companies require therapists to assign a mental health diagnosis for reimbursement, even if you're seeking therapy for personal growth, stress management, or relationship challenges. This diagnosis becomes a part of your permanent medical record, which could have implications for future employment, life insurance, or other areas. By not accepting insurance, I free you from the need for unnecessary diagnoses and focus solely on helping you achieve your goals.
This approach allows me to prioritize your needs and provide care that is flexible, respectful, and focused entirely on your well-being. While I understand this may feel like a limitation, it ensures that the therapy process is completely free from external interference, creating a safe, empowering space for your growth.
If you have any questions, I’d be happy to discuss this further. My goal is to provide the highest-quality support and care for every client.
